When asked for her name, she said "I am the Immaculate Conception." This phrase was a matter of arcane theological import at the time about the Virgin Mary, not something a barely educated peasant girl would have known. If you don't know Bernadette's story, it is a wonderful one, and she's a wonderful Saint. This print is based on a holy card
