I knew immediately that this was what I had to depict

I wanted to bring out the color in this painting by using intense sunlight glowing off of the birds with a dramatic blue sky illuminating the background and backs of the birds

I began to notice the presence of turkeys along this path which I had not expected

but I think we can all relate to a similar place

When the mountains begin to get the early snow falls while the aspen still hold their colorful leaves, the combination of colors simply inspires me! Of course, love is also in the air as the deer begin their rut. In this scene I imagine an old timer making their way out the mountains to escape the harshness of the coming winter.
